This workshop is aimed at children from 18 months accompanied by their parent(s).
We will explore space, movement, and sound through very simple and safe materials for toddlers. The preferred materials will be ribbon, building blocks, some toys, and tape (of different sizes and colors).
Starting from the pairs of actions that are the basis of Play (Throw/Catch, Roll/Slide, Build/Break, Stick/Unstick, Stack/Align, Tip/Collect, Fly/Fall, Spread/Roll...), we will seek what creates distinct spaces and how to inhabit them, alone or together, being inside or outside, above or below, by touching or not, understanding the difference between touching and taking, and with which part(s) of the body...
Simple geometric shapes will also guide us in our games, how we approach a square space, a circle, points and curves, the three horizontal, vertical, and sagittal planes, the relationship of proximity (to the object, to the space, to others) that tells the far and the near, being with, being apart, being against. We will also be very attentive to sounds (what is the sound of tape being unrolled? of a block falling to the ground? of a small car rolling?), and to the rhythms we can create with them.
