Season Calendar

Strange mineral, textile, and electronic bestiary is that of "OUAT (what watt)": a giant mountain that slides, sound clumps, a wobbling rock, a purring peanut, singing stones, a rolling potato, and funny little plank-like animals with feverish movements.

All these creatures compose a mysterious world with its own functioning, a microcosm that we observe and listen to, fascinated. But, do we really know who is watching whom? And who are the most curious, the human spectators or the objects?

We will ask ourselves these questions and many others during the creation of this show, which is still only in its early stages and prototypes...

Full Description

Birth of the project

The project of creating OUAT (what watt) was born during a 5-week territorial residency in the territory of Tourville-Sur-Arques in Seine Maritime, with DSN-Dieppe Scène Nationale.

This residency titled The Guests, allowed us to freely explore several research axes: sound vibration and sub-bass as well as the question of the autonomous movement of the object.

In parallel to this empirical and artisanal research, we invited all children aged 2 to 11 from the school to share our explorations, to express their emotions on sensitive maps following these encounters with living objects, to draw their constellations of the menhir, and to share with us the evocations born from these shared observations.

A documentary film on this shared research was made by Luka Merlet and was released in September 2023. (viewable above)

The notebook "The guests" written for the project by author-illustrator Gauthier David was published in 250 copies by the company La Boîte à sel, and given to all participants in the project.
