Contemporary French theater, music, and children's programs are offered by the eighth annual festival Sněz tu žabu, which takes place from May 24 to 27 at the NoD theater in Prague after a one-year break. It presents several contemporary plays by Francophone authors in their Czech premiere. The main guest of the festival is a French ensemble whose work is aimed at the youngest audience from the age of three. Director Céline Garnavault and sound technologist and designer Thomas Sillard (Compagnie La Boîte à sel) have created a system of sixty interconnected speakers. The blocks are controlled by the actress herself during the performance.
French theater is close to us in terms of humor; it can easily name difficult subjects, says playwright Natálie Preslová
"The sounds of the city are a natural phenomenon for children, which they encounter from birth. Through sounds, they discover the world around them and then associate images with sounds. Thomas Sillard has therefore imagined an absolutely perfect material, that is, a very simple case - a small speaker - which, when shaken, emits a sound. This technology takes on its own identity on stage ”, confides Céline Garnavault in an interview.
