The Bordelais from the company Cie La Boîte à sel have released one of those little gems of creation for young audiences, which will surely delight parents and children for several seasons. To be honest, considering the promise that was made to us, that of a "geek techno-assembled song tour," we feared for a moment that we would quickly discover the strings behind it. Quite the opposite happened, and to think this way was also to underestimate the talent of a team that has already delivered very interesting creations. As in Block (2018) or Track (2021), the finely crafted play of Céline Garnavault coexists with a makeshift technology that knows how to preserve all the humanity of the message. The Head, in itself, is made up of just a few pieces straight out of a Meccano box, with minimalist features as if sketched on a notepad. A mouth, eyes, all animated and full of "life." This star of the song, which we can easily imagine on the decline, is talkative, bitter, often odious with her choristers, her assistant (Céline Garnavault), and even the audience with whom she interacts. We love her as much as we hate her. The lyrics are funny, the songs catchy, they flow together with the greatest ease, and the narrative thread that sees the choristers rebelling against the tyranny of the Head is perfectly credible. Laughter erupts, the audience gets into the game. At the end of the performance, the adults have already left, but not the children; some have remained in their seats. After applauding, they wait for the final encore that the Head will ultimately offer them. A true delight, from age 6.
